Formed in 1996 the Partnership is a coalition of groups and individuals working to protect the high quality natural resources of the Kishwaukee River Watershed. Mission: to raise awareness of the ecological, recreational, cultural and economic importance of the Kishwaukee River and to coordinate and encourage efforts to foster stewardship, protect and enhance its natural resources. Membership: open to all who support the mission & goals of the group. |

The River is home to a diversity of aquatic life, including the mussels pictured here. During summer of 2009 a survey by IDNR, Park District and Forest Preserve Staff Collected 568 individuals representing 19 species |
